With its administrative headquarters in the capital city of São Paulo, the company founded in 2002, performs research in the states of São Paulo, Piauí and Bahia, surveying manganese ore, cobalt, iron, titanium, gold, copper, thallium, among others. In February 2011, Itaoeste announced the discovery of a thallium deposit in the city of Barreiras, state of Bahia, making its portfolio even more attractive and placing Brazil into the select group of thallium metal producers.
